Finding The Words

Lately I just haven't been able to find the words. I want to blog, I have a lot to say. I just can't seem to find the right words. A lot is going on and maybe it's the reality of knowing my reality is changing and trying to find not just the right words but the right time to put it all out there. Because once I put it out there it's not just my reality it's everyones and while I'm more than thrilled with the changes that are coming in my life I'm scared to put it out there. Scared to make it real because what if once I do something bad happens. I know I can't keep it all to myself forever but for right now I think we are happy with it just being our little family and close friends that are in on the secret. So, stay tuned for major announcements coming very soon.

And just because she is the light of my life...this little girl amazes me every day. Todays example, she went potty 2x on the big girl potty and she got her shapes puzzle right on the first try. Yep, she amazes me.

The Catch Up Post

There has been a lot going on around here since Christmas and I could barely muster the energy to get the pictures downloaded let alone write about the happenings at our house. Christmas was fantastic and Santa royally spoiled two girls in particular. We woke up that morning and celebrated just the four of us. Sissy went back to her moms house and my side of the family came over for a chili/soup potluck. It was tasty and a lot of fun. The big downer around was the Big A and I had some colds that were straight out of a horror film. We mustered the energy together to make Christmas good for the ones we love but we felt like poop. Christmas day hit Big A the worse and our anniversary hit me the worse. So needless to say we spent our anniversary in pjs and lounging around the house. Little Lady got a bit of a fever but managed to escape without much else and Sissy was still on antibiotics from getting her tonsils out so I think that is what kept her from catching the crud. Move on to New Years and we still didn't do much. We were all feeling better but enjoyed a nice family dinner out and a nice midnight in. And that brings us to now. This year is chopped full of excitement and big changes - I'll divulge more on that later. 2010 was a great year and 2011 is setting up to be even bigger and better! And to get things back on track on the blog for 2011 here is a Mommy and Me pic from playing in the snow. Yesterday we got just a dusting and we woke up to a ton more this morning with a forecast of it snowing all day - so expect more snow pics!

Happy Anniversary!

When I was a little girl I would dream of my grown up life. I would have this great husband, fantastic kids, a beautiful home - the all around perfect life. I have it, it's not a dream anymore. And it's thanks to you. I love you Big A. Happy Anniversary.

Mantel Perfection

Everyone loves a fancy fireplace mantel at Christmas. And while I start with the grandest of intentions, others have a way of getting their own decorating flair into the mix. To be quite honest, I wouldn't want it any other way.
Every year my mantel starts out this way:But by the time the tree is up and the tupperware containers of ornaments and past crafts come out, the mantel gets decorated a little bit more - Sissy's old crafts, ornaments that don't have hooks but we still want them out, crafts from this year. And like I said, while have a mantel that looks like it comes out of a magazine is great, having one with all the little pieces of family is even better. How can you not love these little beauties sitting around the house - making it feel like home:
