Now that I am in the 2nd (gasp) trimester, I have noticed some distinct differences in each pregnancy.
1-With Little Lady I was sick from DAY 1 till about 22 weeks or so. Sick from the moment I got up till the moment I went to bed, praying to throw up to get some relief but never finding any.
With Puppy the sickness came and went. It would have to have a trigger - the smell of coffee, getting hungry, etc.
2-Which brings me to point number 2 - with Little Lady I was never hungry during the first tri because I felt sooo sick.
With Puppy (and this is still true) if I get hungry I feel really sick.
3-With Little Lady I didn't feel as exhausted as I have this time. Maybe it was because I sat a desk all day but I didn't feel like I couldn't move by the end of the day.
With Puppy I was COMPLETELY exhausted. If you would have seen my house during the first tri you would have been sure that it was not this slightly OCD womans house. For sure.
4-Their locations are completely different. When I would go in for a heartbeat check with Little Lady she was ALWAYS down low, like really low. This baby is up HIGH, like REALLY high. The doppler for Puppy is typically right around my belly button.
5- A similarity! The smell of popcorn can send me into feeling like throwing up in the nearest trashcan. It's terrible. I like to eat popcorn, but to smell it has to be the worst thing you could throw at this pregnant woman during those long 40 weeks!
I'll be curious to hear what you are having this time. With all the differences, one would assume it would be a boy. But you never know! I'm glad you are feeling better now though!
ReplyDeleteI love to read your blog! You tell a story in such a way that one feels as if they were right there. Kristen and I laughed and laughed as we read about the "fish fiasco"!
ReplyDeleteI have to tell you that I did not get terribly sick when I was pregnant with my boys, however, with my girls, it was just as you describe....sick all day...especially with the twins! Also, the boys both exhausted me in the first tri...I would literally fall asleep at my desk at work. I did not feel very tired with Kristen...and I still held the same desk job. I was a stay-at-home-mommy when I became pregnant with the twins and I was tired with them in the first trimester, but not nearly as tired as I was with either of the boys and I was also almost 36-years-old when pregnant with the twins!
And...doppler always found a heartbeat up high with both the boys, and lower with the girls. Also, the girls all had faster heart rates than the boys throughout the pregnancies.
Could be a coincidence...or it could be that you're having a boy! Can't wait to find out!! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!
